"In 1998, Defiance's own UPhold completed their cycle of GREENman releases -- five years, 8 1/2 cassettes exploring lies and promises -- with "Saturn," returning full-circle to the town of their origin. All subsequent products were released under their original band name, much to Daisy's delight. A town like Defiance needs every export it can get!"

This was the last "GREENman" album and it consisted mainly of two long tracks with many different sections, each running into the next. Gary Gehiere was kind enough to burn them onto CD for me. Subsequent releases were under the band name "UPhold."

"The True Story of Muffy St. Jacques" - Because this year's parade is going to be better than anyone expects! Eli McIlveen has probably forgotten his contributions to "Lance's Family Hour" (digital watch beeps). Some sources reach back to the late 1970s.

"Defiance" - A tour of the supposed "Nightmare City," provided by M.S-J (with help from Dr. Clig). Some sources recorded in Studios A & B of CKMS.

"My Biggest Fan (Ratmix Remix)" - Originally mixed for the "True Story of Muffy St. Jacques" album, this was on the cassette version of "Saturn."

"Audrey's Ghost Party" & "Zhombes" - Previously unreleased experiments created with the Winjammer sequencer.

"God Walk Dog" & "Dog Walk God" - Previously unreleased, intended for a Mutant Cactus compilation ("Another Chair in the Bored Room") which either never manifested or was just part of my imagination.

Tracks recorded and mixed in the Abbxcess Bedroom by Adam Thornton. Clay Boutilier drew the cover and the poster.

For this revisitation, everything has been cleaned and remixed from the original 4-track cassettes with the intention of making it sound exactly like the original tape...but better! A few copyright violations have been removed in the process.

Special thanks to Jon for his equipment loans and extra patience; Rob of Weave for kind words; Jim DeJong (DDT) for carrying the tapes and kicking my butt; Clay Boutilier for the artwork; Gary Gehiere (Sintoy) for CD burning, consideration, and expert bee killing; and Terry & Eva & Eli & anyone at CKMS who played the tapes!
